Earlier he served four years as the East Tennessee vice president and director of the association. He has also served as president of the Anderson County Board of Realtors. He is a member of the National Auctioneers Association. Bear generously contributes his time and talent to an average of 50 auctions a year to help area non-profit organizations raise funds. He also devotes time to civic and community groups, serving on the board and as chair of East Tennessee Public Broadcasting and as a past campaign chair for United Way of Anderson County.
